Does anyone know where I can possibly buy a muzzleloader gun building kit?  The kind where you actually build your own gun from beginning to end?  I looked around a bit last Christmas and the only place I could find one was at Cabella's, and they ofcourse were way too expensive.  There is a muzzleloader gun shop by our house and they don't even sell them there..I think it's becoming too old fashioned for everyone or out of style persay, but my husband is kind of that way, (old fashioned I mean).  But of course their might be someone out there that knows a thing or two about these.  I don't at all.  Just curious to see if anyone has any information or if they even exist anymore.  Thanks. GG

Have you checked with Sportsman's Warehouse?  I've been to their store in Coon Rapidds and they're great.  They also have a store in Woodbury at 9895 Hudson Place which is lots closer to you.  Their number is (651) 731-4400.

Good luck.

Nothing wrong with being old fashion GG, I wish I had bought a mess of them when they were only $50 or so. Hope you find something in the places recommended, I haven't seen a kit in years. Chad will get meny hrs. of enjoyment out of putting something like that together and be able to take pride in the finished product. Last year I gave my oldest grandson a 1917 enfield military rifle that I had done 90% of work on to sporterize. My grandson beamed like a lite bulb and I had to go get the hight lift jack to get my sons jaw off the floor because they both knew what the gun meant to me.
I just know Chad will take the same pride in his finished smoke stick.

I went to that site and the first gun I saw was about $1200.  My eyes nearly popped outta my head.  Then I surfed through the kits and they seemed very reasonable and look awsome.  LOTS to chose from.
