A few years back (Memorial Weekend) a Doe got hit by our cabin drive way. She flew right into to the driveway. The guy who hit it didn't want any thing to do with it and he had no damage to his car. The D&R said I could have it,but she was going to have a fawn. So I had Doug help haul it back to the cabin to begin butchering her. Little did I realize how hard it was to cut thru the hide. The first poke with the knife came right back at me,you all would be laughing at this that is for sure. Finally really had to poke hard.I knew to be careful while cutting her open. But to my surprise when I got her open there was a fawn. Not just one,or two,but three!! So that is how I got the 4 deer without firing a shot!!! Also ended up gutting the deer and thought I could use a big spoon for this part-ha-ha!! Had to finaly use my hands to get everything out-YUK!!! But did it..I cut the whole deer up by myself and had it in the freezer by the time the guys came back from fishing..I had the 3 fawns mounted and they are really cute..It was a buck-6lbs,doe51/2lbs,doe-5lbs. They have the longest eye lashes. Someday I will post the pictures of them.

My mom forgot to mention that the 3 baby deer were mounted and put into a gun cabinet that has glass at the bottom of it so you can see the three fawns displayed.  The gun cabinet with the deer in it won 1st place at the minnesota state fair that year.  If I recall it right, I think my brother made the gun cabinet.  So it was pretty cool.  At first when people saw it, they thought that someone had killed these baby fawns so they were very offended.  So we had to put a sign up on it stating the facts that the mother deer was hit by a car and that the three babies did not survive the accident.  It's a beautiful cabinet and the deer are sooooo cute, they even have little spots.  I will try to get a picture posted for my mom someday.  gg

Banger-I was doing the only thing that every 17 year old girl would do when her parents were out of town...I was having at party at my ggmom's house!!  I don't know how CRAZY that sounds, BUT...we did go through 3 kegs...hhhmmmm...Mom, I might have forgot to mention that one though! I just can't quite recall. The house was ALWAYS clean again when she got back home, because as always, I was such a GOOD little girl!! CRAZY SCHMAZY!!  Not me! :ROTFLMAO:  gg

Well here are the pictures my mom gave me to post.  I had to scan them onto my computer, they are old polaroids that are more than 20 years old, so I don't know how good they are going to look.  When I go to my brothers house sometime I will try and take some better pictures for you.  On the one picture where my mom and my little brother are gutting out the deer, notice ggm has a 12 pack next to her...hhhhmmmmm  :ROTFLMAO:

FINE-A-LEE!!!!!   ;D  Hey thanks.  Thats a cool cabinet.  Those fawns are so teeny and cute.  Sad story (the car wreck...) but at least you all did something nice for them.

And Im glad GGM knows the first tool to field dressing -- a 12 pack.   ::cheers::
