Anyone else get hit by the bad storms on Friday night.  Well we sure did down here in Bloomington.  We still don't have power..but we made it out farely okay compared to a lot of out neighbors.  Their are trees down everywhere, powerlines down everywhere and I guess like 100,000 people still don't have power.  We have been cleaning up nonstop for the past two days around here.  Had a lot of fence sections ripped down and just a lot of big branches and stuff.  Out pool was a huge mess, ended up with half the lawn furniture in it, and it now looks like a lake from all the branches and leaves in it.  But like I said we were one of the lucky ones..alot of people have trees on there houses, cars and etc.  It is pitch black around here at night with no street lights, and all you here is the humm of generators going everywhere and as soon as the sun comes up all the chainsaws come out.  Anyway..just wondering how the rest of you all weathered the storm.  Luckily I have my husbands lap top right now, but ofcourse the battery is running low...geez..you forget how much you rely on electricity.  I keep turning on the light switch everytime I walk into a room, and I keep thinking how dumb I am for doing that, then on my way out...I do it again... :ROTFLMAO:  What a dork huh?  I don't know if I would have survived back in the day..I like to take my shower with the lights on..And boy you think my daughter would die without the disney channel at night...how will she ever know what Hannah Montana is up to?  :ROTFLMAO:  Anyway, have a great day!  If I miss you guys in the chat room for a while..now you know why.  Last time we had a storm this bad, we were out of electricty for 7 days..YUK!  Oh well...kinda nice and romantic at night...HA HA...gg

Glad you weathered the storm GG! We didn't have anything down here on Friday night, but had some severe weather move through around 9pm last night. Just some wind and a little rain is all we ended up with here, but other areas were hit much harder with high winds and hail.

We were lucky this time and had no damage. Lots of wind, rain and hail but nothing too bad. Everywhere around us got hit hard though with a lot of trees down and neighborhoods still with out power.

I'm glad to hear so far that most of you weathered the storm alright.  I still can't believe what a mess it is around here.  It's going to take quite some time to get everything back to normal again.  We sure needed the rain, hopefully we will get some more soon but WITHOUT the winds and lightning.....gg

I live near Chaska and Friday night we had some serious wind come through. It blew our large patio table off our deck and onto the paver patio below. The glass from the table shattered and there was glass EVERYWHERE. What a mess. No other damage or injuries (other than some small cuts from glass shards). But now I need to find a patio table to match our chairs, or buy a whole new set.

We got our power back about an hour ago!!! I got the washing maching going, the air back on, the pool pump running....etc...etc...etc....and the meter, I am sure is going round and round!!  But it's nice to have electricity again!...It's wierd though, out of all the houses on our block, we are the only one's that have power...we have no idea why.  But, I'm not complaining, the neighbors are now hooked up to our house instead of a generator, so it's all GOOD!

I have a tree in my yard that is 11 1/2 feet around at the base and half of it blew over on Friday night.  The only damage it did was snap the power line and crush my neighbors fence.  I was out of town so I didn't get to see the storm, but it was fun to come home and see that big tree in my yard.  I've got a lot of cleaning to do outside.
