* I will be spending some time this weekend between rain drops trimming out the face of the ledger boards (to cover up where the old ballisters were) and adding top caps to fence sections and installing the handrail at the steps.

This deck is located on the south side of our house so it is in the full sun all afternoon and heats up all the rooms on this side of the house (at least it used to...). We have noticed a huge difference in these rooms, and the entire house, staying significantly cooler since we finished the pergola last month.

And...we have actually got to sit out on the deck and enjoy the pergola several times over the past couple of weeks. I know we will be using the deck alot more next year during the warmest part of the summer now that we have some shade to retreat to in mid July!   happy2.gif
