Friday 10/12/07 Report:

I fished with Bruce Gonzalez who has a hard time getting a day off from work. So, this was a welcomed day of relaxation on the water for him. I think Bruce started to soon realize what he's been missing after his first few smallies found their way to the net. What is so cool is when we could spot the smallies at times right under the boat while anchored.

As soon as I would spot them with the electronics we'd bring our lines in fast and dead stick. Within a short period of time the old rod tip would either bounce or do a slow bend. The rest is up to the anglers instincts. It's hard to believe, but after all these years It still amazes how those smallmouth can tie a knot in your line when live bait fishing.

I've noticed lately that a lot of the pike we've been catching have got the virus that’s been plaguing them for years. Lots of damaging sores with a bloody appearance and some with old scars that healed. I'm not talking about wounds from other pike. There is a name for the virus but I can't remember it.

See ya on the water,

The chief difference between big-game fishing and weightlifting is that weightlifters never clutter up their library walls with stuffed barbells

I can't think of a better way to spend a much needed (and hard to get) day off from work then small mouth fishing with the King of the Smallies===>>>>SMG !

Another successful outing, great pic SMG!
