So with the new laws on the Fish houses and not having to buy a liesence for it
If I take it with me when I leave
Does that mean that you no longer need either your address or DL # on the house ?

The identification regulation still applies to all shelters in MN. Most people are starting to use there Mn DNR # instead of the drivers license #.

Thanks !! I got a couple of older houses that do not have my ID on them.

I Have found a Cheap way of doing it to my clam.
Head to the fabric store and get some remanants of Water-proof fabric right the numbers on it with a permanent marker and use a zip-tie to connect it to the zipper ... Bets the heck out of writing on the canvas

All of my portables have a built in sleeve from the factory, I just cut down a piece of yellow waterproof sign and bought a set of 2" letters.

But your right about the older portables, they don't come with a sleeve, so you either have to write on the canvas or make a sleeve yourself.

Clam Corp does sell an add on sleeve for $10, available at most sporting goods stores that carry portables.

Writing directly on the canvas of your portables is not a good idea, it will definitely lower the resale value.

- All shelters (including dark houses, fish houses and portable shelters) placed on the
ice of Minnesota waters must have either (1)the complete name and address, (2) driver’s
license number, or (3) the nine-digit Minnesota DNR number on the license of
the owner plainly and legibly displayed on the outside in letters, and figures at least
two inches in height.

All the changes are on the MN DNR website
