I would have to go with this particular species or change my name. Although I do consider myself a multi species angler. :fishing:

There is no greater treasure to me than iceing a 2 lb plus walleye from the depths. (between three and 10# they all immediately go back down) unless it is during the second weekend of February when the the Eelpout is the absolute king.

I am not picky, I'll fish for anything that will bite. But the anticipation of a big pike on a tipup is a close second.

Ken...ya took the minnow right out of me mouth...anything nice out from under the ice, but yeah...that second weekend in Feb on walker bay, the mighty Eelpout is king of all...and walleye become the rough fish, and thats all I have caught every year since I've been hittin the pout fest!  I think my problem is our camp sets up too close to the mayhem, & its too noisey.... it seems the pouters that actually get some pout camp away from the main drag...that and its a "little hard to concentrate on your fishing" when your camps in that area.... :rotflmao: Its kinda weird when you tag into a nice walleye and you curse it! ;)       -thunderpout :happy1:

Spearing pike. Still waiting for the one that resemble a railroad tie to come through.

As far as angling it would be the crappidiles.

My favorite is perch at last ice, walleyes at first ice and crappies/gills anytime. I also like to have norts set off the tip ups or sink a bobber as well. Kind of a tough choice but if I was only able to do one, it would be perch in Feb/Mar.
We all have three memorable trips in our lives...the first one, the last one and the next one.
