Looks like a cheap way to get into the whole camera fishing thing

Powered by 10 C batteries ( how long do they last)

I personally would get a Marcum or Aqua-Vu.  I know they are a little more, but I saw the fish tv at Gander and it seemed to me that it was pretty cheaply built.  I think that Marcum still has a $20 rebate on the vs250 so for about 40 more than the fish tv you get in my opinion a better built camera.

yeah i saw one at gander too looked cheap but a little word believe it or not those fish tvs are made by aqua vu so i am guessing they are  making this so people dont have to spend alot of money

I work at joes sporting goods in St. paul and they are made for the people who dont want to pay a lot of money, but the quality is not good at all. we have broken 2 on the shelf. If you want to pat, go with the aqua vu quad four. four cameras and a remote, very snazzy, less that 500.

Yeah, the FishTV is meant to get anglers who've always wanted a camera into the market. It is made by Nature Vision, so you do get the great customer support. I would step up to a little bit better cam though. I think you can get refurb Scout's for less than $200 from Nature Vision while they last....

Yeah, the FishTV is meant to get anglers who've always wanted a camera into the market.

Maybe that is a good plan, a good marketing plan. People who wouldn't pay the money for a camera can now get one and see the importance of having one. If they are as cheap as some have said they will want to upgrade as soon as possible when they realize that this is something that they do not want to step on the ice without. Just like the cell phone companies, sign up today and get a free phone until you realize you want one with all the features then you buy bigger and better. Maybe with the cheaper camera they will also reel them in with their great customer service!
