It is not final yet, but there is about a 90% chance it is going to happen.  I have to say it is about time.  I know many people are not in favor of the tax to build the stadium, but no one is ever in favor or taxes for anything.  They could do the same thing to build better roads and most people would be against it.

So, what is the latest news on where the stadium is being built? What is the tax increase proposal?

I kind of lost track over the last couple of months, last I heard it was possibly in Blaine and a couple cent tax increase.

If thats the case, then I am all for it, I'm not a resident of the county they are proposing the tax increase but that sounds very reasonable to me. Even if I was a resident and had to pay the tax increase, i'd be all for it and not against. The local bars, restaurants and businesses will definitely see an increase in revenue due to having a major stadium in the same area.

It will be downtown Minneapolis where it should be.

I am pretty sure it is going to be the same 3 cents on every $20 in Hennepin county like it was last year.  I don't live in Hennepin county anymore, but I did last year and I was in favor of the tax.  I still work there and spend enough money there that I will be contributing.

The governor will be signing the bill on Friday night before the game.  2010 will be a good year for the Twins.  Hopefully some of these young players will develop over the next couple of years so we will have a good team when the new park opens.

Mr. Pollad said he would open up the wallet (sign of few good free agents), if the Twins get a new stadium.  Hopefully, he follows through.
