There's No Place for Youth Like National Pheasant Fest!

Pheasant Fest's Youth Village features activities the entire family can enjoy

For Immediate Release
Anthony Hauck (651)209-4972

Saint Paul, Minn.

Pheasants Forever (PF) announces special attractions highlighting the Youth Village at this January's National Pheasant Fest presented by Cabela's. The Youth Village, sponsored by Pizza Ranch, offers activities for young people of all ages. Highlights include archery, laser shot, and live birds and aquatic creatures!

National Pheasant Fest will take place January 18th, 19th and 20th at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in Saint Paul, Minnesota. "This will be Pheasants Forever's biggest and best Youth Village yet," said Rich Wissink, PF's Youth Program Specialist, "We have an assortment of activities that are not only fun, but also educational. More importantly, the Youth Village is something the entire family can enjoy."

The Youth Village sponsored by Pizza Ranch is a great place for families to hang out at National Pheasant Fest, with its family stage offering everything from live storytelling, how-to demonstrations on skills such as casting and fly-tying, and nature crafts. Youth and their families will also have the chance to meet Pheasants Forever's lovable youth mascot, Rudy the Rooster.

Members of Pheasants Forever's National Youth Leadership Council will also be on hand at the Youth Village at National Pheasant Fest, running many of the activities and working in the booth. Members on the NYLC are spokespersons for their age group on hunting and conservation issues and help advise Pheasants Forever.

Youth ages 7-17 also have the unique opportunity to attend the all-night Pheasant Fest Family Camp-In at the Science Museum of Minnesota (located across the street from the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The camp-in will start at 5 PM on Saturday, January 19th and will conclude at 8 AM on Sunday, January 20th. This super science and conservation event, held in conjunction with the National Pheasant Fest, will be packed full of a variety of fun, hands-on activities and programs. To register or for general camp-in information, log onto www.NationalPheasantFest.org/page/pfestAttendee.

For the special price of $30, a National Pheasant Fest advance ticket includes floor admission for the entire three-day weekend, as well as a one-year membership to Pheasants Forever. The PF membership includes a free PF hat (a $17 value), a subscription to the Pheasants Forever Journal of Upland Conservation (5 issues) and PF member card and decal. Single day tickets to the event will sell for $10 at the show, and the annual PF membership alone is $30. In other words, purchasing advance tickets to National Pheasant Fest is a $77 value at less than half the price, a savings of over 60 percent! Tickets are available at any Ticketmaster outlet (find links at www.NationalPheasantFest.org) or by calling (651)989-5151. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Saint Paul RiverCentre Box Office (located in the southeast lobby of Xcel Energy Center).

National Pheasant Fest 2008 presented by Cabela's will combine a national consumer show, habitat seminar series, and family event complete with puppies, tractors, shotguns, and art. In fact, the Fest promises to be the country's largest event for upland hunters, sport dog owners, and wildlife habitat conservationists. Dogs are NOT permitted at Pheasant Fest unless you are an event exhibitor or presenter! Please do not bring your dogs to the event if you are just attending, thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

National Pheasant Fest is open to the public (members welcome too)! Daily ticket prices: Ages 16 and older - $10; ages 6-15 - $5; ages five and under - free. Friday, Jan. 18th will be Senior Citizen Day with $5 admission for Seniors, while Sunday, Jan. 20th will be Family Day with $1 off all admissions. Get your ticket at the RiverCentre door during the show or order yours now at TicketMaster online.

I did see a coupon somewhere not too long ago, it may have come in the mail from PF a few weeks ago, i think there was a $1 off coupon and a $10 gift card to Gander Mountain.

I'm sorry, I just copied and pasted that from the website. That is exactly how it was written. I'm sorry if you felt i was yelling at you. It is a very bold statement. I suppose they have a lot of people showing up with dogs because the Gamefair allows them.

It looks like you can get tickets in person too.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Saint Paul RiverCentre Box Office (located in the southeast lobby of Xcel Energy Center).

So how is your schedule looking?

Mine has changed again and again.  :bonk:  Now I have Saturday off (like originally planned) but I already told MDHA I wouldn't be able to volunteer that day so now I only plan to go Sunday the 20th.

The in-laws postponed their trip due to the bad weather and cold temps so I will not be heading up now.

I saw a commercial on TV the other day and everyone was walking around with dogs. I thought that was weird. How would 1000's of people bring dogs to an indoor event. Weird commercial.

Anyone ever watch "Upland days with Dez and Dash" on Vs. ?  Its a pretty cool show... Dez & his English Setter hitting different Hunting clubs in the US.  They were there at the fest.... They always close the show with the funniest/ironic/sarcastic line.... "Never, ever spoil yer bird dog"..... :rotflmao:                 -thunderpout

Well I was there all day Sunday.  The gal with me from MDHA sold one membership and other than that, we handed out tons of magazines and brochures.

All in a day's work as a volunteer right boys?

Now Im looking at the Deer Classic coming up in March.   ;D
