Both the July and August dates given are fine for me.

I don't know about you but I will be working at the Game Fair The August weekend. ;)

I forgot about the Game Fair. The Game Fair is 2 weekends in a row, August 11-20th or something like that. So most of August is out for me now.

The only August date open for me is August 26th and 27th. I will be fishing on Lake Michigan on Aug 5th weekend. July is wide open for me. ;D

H.G. good to here from you.
we are trying to get the date hammered out so people can go ahead and make their plans.
I tried to call russ today, but he was on his way to brainard and his signal ran out.
a return call was unsucessful.
It is looking like a july 21 th through the 23 rd.
I was hoping to run it by russ to see what he thought.
it seems to be the most open for all so far.
anybody else see a problem with this let us know.

just finished talking to Jigglestick and the wheels are just starting to move- Gamble at the site   www.IBOT-REDLAKE.ORG now has a map posted under the photo galley of the map to the feed- it will be posted here soon and hopefully the rest of the items of orgainizing, since its pot luck were going for making,( Dancing Bears beans with Judys additives) we will make those- Gambler from Florida with the IBOT Form will be there even with at bad bout of cancer treatments almost behind him- maybe even Nunnu or Rush from the  www.Minnowfaces.com might show;;
gosh we cant hardly wait to get the dust settled down with orgainizing -- remember theres a huge pole shed there with a good roof with no sides around it and dirt floor to hide from the weather and plenty of room to set chairs and tables up

I really am hoping and praying to make it to this years event! I am sure a good time will be had by all and I think this years turnout will be the best we've ever had being that it will be held so close to the sillys.

I only have one foreseeable problem making it there - that being the dogs. I do not know of anyone who will care for them while the rest of the family is at the fest and there is just no way I can afford to board them for the weekend. I am sooo broke I can barely pay attention :'(.

Is the no dog rule set in stone? My pups are very well behaved and I am very responsible for them.

If we can't make it, then I guess we can't make it. I wonder how many other folks are in the same boat. I understand the reasoning behind this issue, but I also have not seen where the ibot pups have been a problem either. If someone has a misbehaving dog, child, or spouse can't they just be asked to either remedy the problem or leave? I along with the rest of the crew (I am sure) would be behind that 100%.

Sorry Russ, I don't mean to be a pain, but this is a real problem for us. Please don't take me wrong, I very much appreciate that you are offering your families farm for this years IBOT Fest. That is very generous and YOU ARE DA MAN!

I feel your pain Doc. It makes me sick how much it costs to kennel a dog. I've got 2 myself and it costs about $40+ a night to kennel them.

As it looks right now We'll be driving up for the day on Saturday. Sounds like it will be a good time.

that's a bummer Doc.
I know what you mean.
it is tough for us as well, being able to go somewhere for the weekend leaving dogs at home.
that time of year we can't just leave them in the kennel with a weekends supply of food and water. max usually dumps the water over right away.
in july it is usually too hot out for them anyway.

I talked to goose last night and he's in the same boat.
 :(
I hope this doesnt affect a whole bunch of people

its cut in stone, Its not only our land involved its mothers shed and land--at the age of 83 Im sure not knocking her rules- she has no problem with shotguns, bb guns, clay pigeon shooting( and legel fireworks- hum) and it depends on how the area is for dryness-- theres a lot of tall grass around) and beer--
there are restricted areas- old buildings, rock pile with broken glass and tin on it- thats been there for many a year, there is also barb wire and electric fences- we moved dates around to get the best time for everyone- we like dogs but not at this feast please, we will post a sign that we are not responsible for accidents or injuries- hate to but mom isnt that rich- were there to meet each other with the families included- mom will be in and out and needs not have dogs jumpimg on her tripping her as she wants to meet each of yous-- end of story

Very understandable Russ. Moms rules are golden. ;D

Maybe we should consider other options for the fest? The no dog rule seems to be a problem for a few so far, i'd hate to see Dr. Bob, Goose or others miss the fest because of there dogs. I would of loved to bring my dog this year, it's not a problem to get a dog sitter, but she sure would of loved the fest and running around with the other dogs.

I'd be willing to drive the extra miles to putz's in Grand Rapids if this is still an option? Otherwise maybe someone else has a cabin or land in central Minnesota that we could all get together at?

And I'm not saying we should cancel Russ's offer, just to look into some other options that would accomodate everyone involved....

Looks like a meeting is in order this weekend at the MNO get together around the campfire. ;D

Russ,
are you coming over for the get together?

Jiggle,
Bring the clamp and the cards, we have a few newbies to work on this weekend (Mayfly, Fawkinnae, Joe)

spinach, it is to late to change up locations.
we will go ahead as planned, with those who are able to attend.
I am not knocking russ' hospitality. I didn't really think about this before. every body just brought there poochies along without a second thought.
after this year we might need to keep this in mind as a consideration. that is all.
I am looking forward to the weekend.

we did our best to get the location half way inbetween-- to give north, south, east and west the same amount of traveling time- this may work or not to get a better guest reply- yes we have rules and one of them is the -"no dogs rule" we just offered the place and 1 rule --there are different ways to go about this issue
1st- find a new place thats has dogs allowed- our place or moms isnt set in stone, it was offered- we will do our best to help get things orgainized for everyone for the weekend,- as of now we have seen dog owners reply any non owners want to reply-please do so
but the real issue here is the weekend feast, this is the first year there- if it dosent go well- i dont know (this is a trial run)
Jigglestick is in charge- not us -were the broom sweepers that help move things along- state you opions it sure doesnt hurt us, maybe next year you will have it at your place
double snap fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! tonight

I'm about 45 minutes away and I could just come up for the day if anyone wants us to babysit some dogs.  We live in the country and have room for a few if they are kennel of leash trained.

You shouldn't be offened Russ. I think it was a great gesture on your part to offer a place for this feast to take place and me and I'm sure many others thank you. I've felt the calling of the triangle and should be a card carrier after this weekend. I look forward to meeting you and Judy in July.

russ, if it would help, we could bring down a couple of lawn mowers and dilly the place up ahead of time.
not sure how much area you have open, but i thought maybe some of the areas might be growd up a bit. if that's the case, we can go down and do some bush whackin'.

Russ, I live about 45 minutes away from there, let me know and I can be there with a mower, or whatever else you need, or just to help with the grunt work.  I have most weekends free between now and the IBOT fest.   :)  I can be up on evenings too.

I'll PM you the phone # in case you lost it. ;)

SoHawk -

Thank you for your kind offer.  I saw it on Friday, but was just to d*mn busy trying to get going for the weekend that I did not have time to respond.  Actually I prolly would have, but my puter was running VERY SLOOOOWWW and then crashed on me so I folded the cards on it!!!

I think I may have a plan that might work for my pups, but I'll certainly keep you in mind in case it falls through.
