Let's see what everyone is fishing out of this year on the ice. If you have a pic of your ice house, whether it's a portable or permanent, let's see em'!

D.T. I hope that Bad Boy Floats! Looks like a nice day for the ice to melt.
I'd rather be sittin' on the ice.

Thrasher, Your house looks like it would be awesome! I really like the old stove and the bunks. Nice. Where do you put it?

Here's a picture of one that I took up on LOTW. Pretty cool. It looked like a spray foam jobbie with painted igloo lines.

I will take a pic tomorrow of my little portable and post it tomorrow night.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

rtk343, sorry for the late response. I'm out of Barnacles on the north of Barnacles Flat. Been slow. This weekend I got a 24,15,17 and watched (camera) a lot of eyes pass by. Took my portable (Genz FishTrap III) out to 30 ft. water mid day and picked up a few perch. Gonna give er heck next weekend. A couple of more shots.

I am not a Green Bay fan and this was much cheaper than the regular blue one at the time.  Next year I am going to upgrade to a Voyager since I will have two boys old enough to fish with me.  No matter what the price is I would go with the plain blue next time.

I bet you get quite a few drunks wandering by and asking if you have any wild turkey and could you spare a shot ?  :drinking:

Actually we have not if you can believe it.  There is almost always at least one person that will say something about it when we are out though.

I admit it --I own a 5x8 Green bay house as well, they were giving them away one day for less than 1/2 price years ago.  The best thing is that nobody will come near you when your in a green house.  And if you use it in Wis. your part of the family.  You cant say that about a Vikings house (if there was one) in either case..funny huh?

If anyone really takes their football that seriously, they can run my house over.

That explains what happened to me about 10 years ago..... I was on Mazaska and sitting in my Fish Trap and I heard a car coming pretty fast and i had a bad feeling, so i stood up and looked out the window, the car clipped the edge of my portable and spun me around. (True story)

It must have been a Frabill owner.

well... now the exterior is completely finished.  and the wiring is up an running (12 volt compact florescent lights, and 110 outlets). 8 holes

next step is foam board insulation, then luan panels for interior walls, then some nice trim around the edges.  there will be four bunks.

if anyone has creative ideas for hole covers (other than catch covers) i would like to hear about it, and hopefully see pictures.

i will post more pics as the inside comes together.

just use catch covers... they work great.  I know they are expensive, but i've learned my lesson before, there are just some things not to skimp on.

If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

heres the deal..... i have made the holes in my floor as big as i can make them (if i go larger, parts of the frame will be inside the hole) and they are about 10.25."  to use a catch cover, i would need to make them larger.  i know i might be able to find the 11" holes and i MIGHT be able to pull off making the holes that mich bigger. but i know most of the covers are 13" and i deffinatly cannot make that work.

if i cannot come up with anything good, i will try to make the 11" ones work.

any other ideas?
