We got to meet Bob Cary for the first time on Moose Lake about 11 years ago. The wife ran back to the cabin to get her copy of Rootbeer Lady after Bob suggested that he sign it for her.

After he signed it he gave the wife an unexpected quick kiss. Hey, why not!  I had to laugh since he moved fast for 78 yrs old. Thought some of you might like to listen to Jackpines final farewell on WELY radio.

Yep," Here today and gone tomorrow."  I listened to that tape again about a week ago and still got choked up all over again.

Old Jackpine took a heck of a ride paddling his way thru life. Makes one wonder about your own life and the things you always wanted to do and still haven't  :banghead:

There may still be time if you hurry.  :fishing:  :fudd:

Bob was a great guy
He taught me how to draw birds better..lol
He taught me alot in the years i knew him
I remember  the day he took off to check on Dorthy, and he found her cabin cold, and she was passed away. I wont forget his face and voice that day when he told me the bad news.
I can only wish to live the rest of my life as he did..Happy and Free
