I regretfully would like to let everyone on MNO know that one of our members and friends has passed away.

Randy Hazelton (Rchaze) passed away 2 weeks ago. Randy left behind his best friend and girlfriend (Karen) and Rc Jr who lives in Oregon with his mom.

I talked with Karen and was told that Randy had been having stomach problems for about a year now and the doctors had him on meds, they also had him under extensive testing. 2 weeks ago, he asked Karen to call 911 while they were home, Randy passed before help arrived.

Here are some things about Randy that some of you never knew.....

Randy was a person with a very big heart, he would give the shirt off his back. He was always the first person to buy MNO merchandise, actually he would come back for 2nds too. He bought a few decals, a MNO hat, few packs of jigs etc....... If we had it for sale, he showed up at my house with a check. A couple of times I gave him merchandise on credit, he always came by with a check as promised when he got paid.

Randy volunteered his time at our MNO get togethers, he helped out wherever he could, he always referred to MNO as (our site)

Randy gave me rides to the airport 3 times a year or so ago and I had to bribe him to take some cash for his gas and time.

Many of you Eelpouters will remember Randy too, he stayed with John Wester and I at Camp MNO, he also hung out with us at all the other camps and met many of you. He was so excited to attend his first Eelpout festival after moving here from Oregon a couple years ago, he wouldn't stop talking about how much fun he had with us, no doubt he was ready for 2009.

Over the past summer, i hadn't talked to him as often, he started a new job and the last i heard he was being promoted to a management position, this was about 2 months ago, we talked about getting together to catch up but it never happened.

Randy made several friends on other websites too, he always told me that MNO was his home, Randy had over 1000 posts on this board in less than a year.

My condolences to Randys family and friends, especially RC JR and Karen.......... We will all miss you brother!!!

Randy, too early man, too early for you. I wish your family the best. I pray that jr is doing okay. Pat is right about him. Very big heart. I am glad we got you up to pout fest. You will be missed here.

I am deeply saddened by this news. I met RC at eelpout fest while visiting the MNO camp. Although I had never met him in person I felt i knew him from this site. I must say he was a very  friendly and accomadating Person. His love for the outdoors Was felt by everyone that was in a room with him. Love each other because no one is promised a tomorrow.

I'm heart broken to hear this news. I met Randy three or four times and very much enjoyed his friendly laid back manner. He adored his son. I feel terrible for his family. Very sad.

Sad to hear about RC's passing. I knew he had been having some stomach issues, but I guess i was not aware that they were that serious.

RC was a very giving person and just an all around great guy! I had the pleasure of getting to know him through MNO and spent some time with RC and Holdemtwice out on RC's boat (which we named the SS.MNO) out on Prior Lake...Man did we have a blast that day. We laughed so hard most of the day I thought we were gonna all fall out of the boat! We caught a load of panfish and made some great memories that I will never forget. MNO has lost a true friend. Godspeed Brother RC!  :fishing:

As most of us I only see MNO people at events and that is too where I met him. He truly was a fun person to hang with; if he is going to be this missed around here, I can only imagine what his family is feeling. I only hope that are thoughts and prayers can help you in your time of need.

I never had the pleasure of meeting RC in person.  Although we had some good laughs in chat and exchanged pm's.  I had great respect for the effort Randy made to introduce his son to the outdoors.  I am sure RC jr will cherish those memories.  You were much too young Randy.  I am a better person for knowing you thru MNO.  My heart goes out to your family.   :toast:
