I just wanted to echo Metrojoes invitation, this will be an awesome time and a great way for the members to meet others from the site.

This is actually the 4th annual Pheasant hunt we have did together, Mayfly, myself, MetroJoe, Benny and a few others have been doing this for a few years.

I guarantee you will have a great time, in the past i know the biggest turnoff to some of the members has been that they thought there dog was not qualified to hunt with some of the others. Some thought because they had a pup or a dog that was inexperienced they shouldn't come along.

Let me tell you all, that these people ended up joining us and having a great time, the pups all did great and the lesser experienced dogs fit in very well. So please don't let this be a reason to not come out to the hunt, each of us will go out of our way to make sure you and your dog have a good time.

I know Metrojoe was one of these people a few years ago, and look at him now, he is the one thats getting this get together going. ;D

We have also had around 30 or so members at each of our past hunts, so lets get this going in the right direction and sign up today. ;D

Yep, don't be shy because you think your dog or your shooting skills are not up to speed.

My pup was just that when I first went to Glenderado, she didn't know any thing at the start but by the end of the day she was chasing birds as well.

As for shooting skills, I miss more birds than any one in the field. My only skill at hitting birds is if they are made of clay and are thrown out of a small house straight in front of me:)

I've got about a dozen or more guys from work that are interested. I'm going to pass around a sign up sheet and get some solid commitments/deposits over the next couple weeks.

I've got someone interested in covering whatever birds we're short of 100, but I've got to have a solid commitment for 60% to 70% of the birds. Plus we'd all get the $3 per bird discount. So get those deposits in ASAP.

I also talked to Val this evening and asked about getting a morning and afternoon hunt with a 100 bird release and she said she'd have to get back to me.

I talked to Wild Willie allready so he knows. He will not be coming along.

I'm sure Birddog can get a hold of Mistermom.

I'll send ATM a pm, he comes on this site occassionally.

Pheasant Maniac? Not sure how to get a hold of him.

Lets get this thread to the top again.

This is a great chance to get out and meet some fellow pheasant hunters. It is a very casual relaxed atmosphere and really is a lot of fun.

I think one year we had enough guys together and we released 100 birds. With our birds and the birds that were already out there there were birds everywhere.

It will be a good day to get a puppy out as well. I brought Luci to one of these events when she was 6 mos. old. It was her first time on live birds and fire. She was gun broke and had some minimal experience with live birds. I was very nervous as I didn't want here to ruin anyones hunt incluing mine. It turned out to be a great learning experience! She did great.

Anyone else in???

3 birds
1 Golden Retriever
2 guns and 2 lunches (I hope)

I'll send you a check tomorrow Joe - Thanks a bunch for putting this together.? It'll be a blast I am sure.?

It would be nice if we could talk Jiggle into showing up, but I think he does not believe in shooting fish in a barrel.? ?::)

Here is a map to the hunt club.

Take Exit 165(Rock Creek) east to Keystone St north to 580th St and east to Lily St. You should see the old school house at the T intersection.

The hunt is only 3 weeks away and we're only a week away from the deadline for the deposits.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Just over a week away and it looks like this is coming together nicely. If anyone is still interested in going let me know ASAP. I've talked to Val and given her a preliminary count, but I can add a few if need be.

You can call me at 651-245-2583. Leave a name and number and I'll get back to you shortly.

Nope, I decided to not go and head to work instead, I need to get out of debt.

Are you going? I'm sure they could squeeze you in. Give me a call sometime.... Same #.

Plus macey has been sick for a few weeks now with a bladder infection, she's ok now but not in shape yet. I'll continue her conditioning tomorrow again, so she is ready on Oct 1st, probably try and get her out to the game farm a couple times before the opener in Marshall.
