New for 2013

   This is new for this year.  Videos will be scored.  Provided they are less than 30 seconds.  The entire 30 second vid. must be visible direct here. No links.  The judges will not freeze frame and try to magnify it out.  You post a vid and you will not have a 2nd chance.   All requirement of the still photo must be met.  This vid would not qualify because it is to long.  Take a still pic or a vid.  If you choose to edit it, and meet all requirements it will be scored.  30 seconds.  If it says 30.01 it will not even be looked at.  [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGg7o1cPWuE[/youtube]

   This is the same video edited.  It would score but barely.  The entire fish must be in it with the staple at some point during the video.  In my opinion a  would be easier to post.  We are adding this way to score your fish because everyone insists on using their cell phones.  Please if you submit it take the time to edit it and keep it within the 30 second time frame.  Again the judges will not be doing anything with the video.  If the numbers can't be seen clearly it will not score.

   Does anyone have any input into the video scoring? We have some time to talk about it yet. I think it will help in some instances.  With today's technology, a video  maybe able to be done faster than trying to get the fish to sit still for a photo op.  I do think in order to submit a video the fish Has to be on a fish board with a vertical component to place the lips up against.  After all our only goal is to measure the fish as accurately as possible and in many instances get it back in the water.

  It takes me 1/2 a day.  These  kids could have it edited and uploaded before I could even put my camera lens back on.
