Stopped by Menards yesterday and checked out their left over outdoor stuff.  They had this assembled (was the display) two man wrap around metal stand with camo.  Normal price is $150. They had it for $110. While he was gone I noticed it was missing two braces (2 foot piece of metal) and I told the guy I would load it up for $100. While he went to check with his manager (I felt like I was buying a car), I noticed the sleeves that reinforce the ladder were missing as well as a few ratchet straps.  The guy came back and said they would sell it for $100.  I told him about the other missing pieces and he basically said I should just go see his manager.  Now I was getting somewhere.  After a short discussion he said I could have it for $69.00 so out the door it went.  Cool deal.  I though for sure he would say they couldn't sell it being it was missing safety parts.

Glenn57, I think you did pretty good on the fridge.  My wife just rolls her eyes and walks away when I start "negotiations" like this.  I think the tipping point was when I told him it's ok if he didn't want to reduce the price, but he should put a warning on it that some of the safety parts were missing.

:happy1: :rotflmao: yea I did. Thanks, it already saved my brother from losing a bunch of fish last summer when the power went out at the cabin.

But I do contract negotiations for a living.

well, remember when deadeye was given away a frig and stove????????? old folks desease setting in?? :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I took it up to the cabin and we use it as an extra. the one we had up there doesn't seal tight and is probably not real efficient.

power went out and he his mother and kids were up for a week when the power went out. they fired up the generator and kept the firg's running so there fish food beer and soda's wouldn't spoil. that extra frig comes in real handy when someones up there a while.

Glenn,
No fork lift required.  I have put up so many of these that I can do them while catching a short nap.   :rotflmao:
