Quick facts about Arbery:

Ahmaud Marquez Avery (AKA Arbery) brought a loaded gun to a high school basketball game. The name Avery comes from a misspelling from the reporter. Aubery assaulted officers on the scene who attempted to subdue him from entering the basketball game, and later tried to flee the scene.

Lee Merritt, the family attorney was quoted saying:

Family attorney Lee Merritt has acknowledged Arbery's 2018 arrest on shoplifting charges. But any reference to "alleged conduct from high school or shoplifting is absurd and has nothing to do with his murder," Merritt said.

Aubery was only two miles away from his legal residency according to USA Today, on a jog.

Aubery has been arrested before, and does have a mugshot. He was arrested previously for shoplifting and bringing a loaded weapon to a highschool basketball game, for what reason we do not know at this time.

Aubery’s criminal record is referenced in the police incident report written by the Glynn County Police Department, as shown here. Some takeaways are:
