Tuesday Oct 27th Report

Fished Geneva with Borgie and our goal was to work for northerns. Generally Sept and Oct is a good time to target Fall pike, without using live bait, but not this year. Sept started to peak about the second week and went down hill from there. Just as most of the Summer/Fall fishing this year patterns are not normal like other seasons. We worked relentlessly for hours with slim results. One pike boated and one on but lost. Other than that we couldn't even get any bumps or short hits.

In an effort to salvage something for our efforts on the day we figured we'd try for smallies. The wife smashed a nice 19.5 incher within 5 minutes fishing a crawler in 28 fow. Nothing the next 25 minutes and time had run short for us and we had to head home. Air temp was 36 degrees at 7:45 am and the water was 51.1 degrees. Light winds, some fog, cloudy/pt cloudy. The lake HAS turned over and only a handful of fisherman on the water.

Some folks are wondering what's happened to all the fishing reports here. I can sum it up in two words FISHING'S LOUSY! I can't remember the last time I spotted a steady barometer this Fall. Let's hope we have more normal weather patterns next season. The fishing patterns in general have been less predictable all over the Midwest and into Canada. I know there have been some exceptions here and there, but I'm talking over all.

I've actually been turning down guide trips lately because of the fishing. I could use the money, but I enjoy repeat clients so I tell it like it is.

See ya on the water,  :happy1:

Lee

Only if she gets credit for extra effort. I won't tell Borgie you spelled her name wrong. :oops1: :whistling:
                Borgy

:queen: may wind up on your team next year. :rotflmao:
