Wild aim to get past Chicago Blackhawks this time. :blablabla: :blablabla: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

It would hardly feel like the Stanley Cup playoffs if the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks didn't meet.

For a third straight year, they are set for a best-of-seven postseason series, this one a second-round battle that will begin later this week, perhaps Friday in the Windy City.

Just like a year ago, the Wild's reward for upsetting the Central Division champs in the first round of the playoffs is a Blackhawks team that has been one of the league's best since 2008, winning the Stanley Cup in 2010 and 2013.

"Every year, they're Cup contenders," Zach Parise said after scoring twice in the Wild's series-clinching 4-1 Game 6 win over the St. Louis Blues. "For us to want to get in that conversation with them, we've got to beat them.

It'll be a good series. It'll be a tough series."
Two years ago, the Wild were bounced by the Blackhawks in five quick games, a series that wasn't overly competitive.

Last year, the Wild showed significant gains, playing the Blackhawks fairly evenly before falling in overtime of Game 6.

This season, they hope for more.

"Three straight years we've been to the playoffs and a couple of years now that we've won a round, but nobody's satisfied with that," coach Mike Yeo said. "We weren't last year, and we're even less this year. I think that's a good thing. But we know that we're up against a tough challenge in the next round as well."

The Blackhawks won their first-round series by knocking off the Nashville Predators in six games.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You knew there were going to be two good teams coming out of the Central (Division) and they are the third and fourth seeds that get out," Blues captain David Backes said. "You get into the playoffs, anyone can get out if they bring the next level of their game, and Minnesota and Chicago did that and us and Nashville are having interviews like this."

:reporter; Blackhawks beat Wild in Game 1 on Teravainen goal in 2nd

MAY 02, 2015   :cheerleader:

Teuvo Teravainen broke a tie with his first playoff goal and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild 4-3 on Friday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series.

The Blackhawks, trying to knock out Minnesota for the third straight year, struck first after taking out Nashville in six games in the opening round. Game 2 is Sunday night in Chicago.

The 20-year-old Teravainen came through with 58.2 seconds left in the second period after Chicago blew a 3-0 lead. Held out of the final four games of the first round, he scored from a difficult angle, and the Blackhawks hung on from there.

Brandon Saad scored 1:15 into the game. Patrick Kane and Marcus Kruger added goals just over 2 minutes apart in the first period.

Corey Crawford made 30 saves, and the Blackhawks came away with the win even though they were outplayed for big portions of the game.

Zach Parise had a goal and an assist for Minnesota, Jason Zucker and Mikael Granlund also scored, and Thomas Vanek had two assists.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 31 shots, but the Wild came up short after beating St. Louis in the first round.

The Wild scored three goals in an 8:09 span in the second period to wipe out a 3-0 deficit, only to see Chicago take the lead on Teravainen's goal. He picked the puck off the left board and fired a quick shot high off the right post and into the net.

Crawford preserved the lead in the third when he saved a shot by Matt Dumba with his left toe with 7:38 remaining. He stopped Nino Niederreiter's point blank just over a minute later.

Minnesota's Jason Pominville missed a half-open net from about 15 feet, the puck fluttering wide left with about 2:40 left.

Notes: The Blackhawks are 23-4 in their past 27 home playoff games. ... Chicago F Kris Versteeg sat out with a lower-body injury that coach Joel Quenneville said was not serious. ... The Wild are winless in seven playoff games at Chicago.

Blackhawks left wing Teuvo Teravainen celebrates with teammates after scoring against the Wild in the second period of Game 1.

If Mn went into the 3ed the way they played the 2nd it would may have been a sweep.

Where's Bobby Bass? I remember him being a Wild fan at one time. Then there was Tim (MNO). I remember what a thrill it was for him when he posted a photo of the Championship Blackhawks on the home page after losing his bet.

Nope, Hawks pretty much blew their wad in the first, Wild took all they had and just about won it still. With a win Sunday night and the home ice advantage will be gone for the Hawks. Of course you can read all about it in the paper I am sure the games are on way past your bedtime.   :coffee:   :rotflmao:

Nope we leave the state of stale beer and day old pizza. Back home to 19,000 fans who know how to play hockey not just go to games to wave cute little flags they found on their seat and ask the guy next to them "What is icing"  should be a different game for sure with Yeo getting to make the last line change and home ice advantage. Wild will still win in 6  :whistling:

Bobby,

First off everyone from my state already knows that icing is what you put on cake.

Glenn,

Everyone knows that the politicians from IL were railroaded into serving time in prison. Remember that one of the greatest presidents the nation has ever known Obama is from IL. "O' yes and some guy named Lincoln. I think they even named a car after him but, I don't think he played Hockey.

Then their was a guy named Lee Borgersen from IL. that was named a Minnesota Legend and he didn't even play hockey. As a matter of fact I may even have a photo of him. Wait a minute and Ill see if I can find it  ... What luck! I just happened to find that photo. What are the odds that I would just happen to stumble over it.

I would like to invite all the Wild fans to climb on the Blackhawks Band Wagon. Let's face it your boys may have lost to the best team in hockey this year. That's a small consolation prize but something to soften the blow as you suffer the agony of defeat.

That last few minutes of hockey in the final game was thrilling for all of us. Got to go to hop back on the Hawks victory train before it leaves the station.

See ya next season I'm sure.

Unfortunatly BB King has passed on recently but will never be forgotten. Unlike old BB King, old( BB: Bobby Bass) and his team da Ducks will soon be forgotten just as the MN. Wild has been forgotten. As for Glenn lets just say you have to be remembered before you can be forgotten.  :rotflmao:

Glenn,

I don't know how to say this but how could I ever forget you. Just viewing your self photo on your avatar is an inspiration to all of us. You are an attractive individual. By the way is that your natural hair color on your avatar or did you color it?

Now before you get all flustered I have to be honest with you. Boar was the one that sent that quote to me and I said I would post it for him.

Borgie needs no secret bingo stash. She takes what she needs when she needs it from my wallet. Funny thing though. She never seems to replenish any of the  funds when she wins.  She must think I'm stupid because back in 1998 when she won once she never put any of that dough back in my wallet.

When I asked her why she didn't put some a dat dough back in my wallet she said she didn't win. "It was da lady next to her that won". :bonk:

Alright all you Hawk Haters. :taz: Listen up! :happy1:

Lee's willing to take on all dems dare Hawk Haters for 1 :Deer:  on the total series against The Lightning.
If your interested just post your name and your on board for investing one :Deer:  At this point It looks as if Bobby and Glenn have gotten cold feet on the double or nuttin bet. It should be a good series. The lightning has a better record than The Hawks. They are younger. Also they match up well in the speed dept.
The only advantage The Hawks have is that they have Lee as a fan. :cheerleader:

The deadline to sign up for this Stanley Cup Championship Series competition is 12 noon Wed June 3rd.

PS. Sorry to see that Bobby and Glenn fell off the Hawk Hatters Bandwagon. But, let's face it. They never had the heart training-087 in da first place.

If need me I can have my people meet with your people and they can go over the contract. Afterwards they can both meet up with Glenn's people and if we all can get our people to agree to agree then we can of course seal the deal. Of course this is a first for me as I have never had to have a contract for a wager but then this is a contract involving the Black Hawks and that should speak for itself   :coffee: My signature is good as if you look close you will see Duncan's paw smudge and he is a notary here at the lake. :happy1:

Bobby ......Bobby you keep forgetting that the worst I could do is break even with the Nowhere man Brothers. I think the trauma you boys are experiencing has been to much for you to handle. Glenn's wife has e-mailed me asking that I never offer any wagers in the near future. It seems that the ageing process has taken it's toll on Glenn recently and he's unable to preform his husbandly duties. :doah:

A: Because the cup's always in Chicago

A: He was ice fishing and got run over by the zamboni!

TOEWS FACTOR: The Chicago captain, who scored his first goal of the series in Game 4, has a reputation for putting the Blackhawks on his back and willing the team to victory in close series.

Coach Joel Quenneville knows Toews' history, but isn't predicting anything.

"Well, I don't forecast advantages. I know we're fortunate to have him. He's a special player. He's a great leader. He's got tremendous character," Quenneville said. "We always talk about the bigger the setting, the bigger the stage, he rises to that challenge. Our team rises to big games and big settings as well."

Here we are the morning after the night before. Me thinks the boys are in mourning this morning. The Stanley Cup is in route to Chicago for presentation after Monday nights game as we speak! :happy1:

The Chicago Blackhawks can taste it. They can feel it. And they are one win away from creating a near NHL dynasty in this decade.

What you witnessed in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night was a Chicago team that was not about to let training-087 the young Tampa Bay Lighting ruin their mojo.

Like I've always said about the Lightning fans...........................

Christmas comes late for the Hawks
[/b]

Christmas came late for the Hawks last night as in the first period they were given a gift of a goal! after that they were totally out played and out shot but yet managed to skate away with a win and are that much closer to winning the cup.  To bad that I see the Lightning winning the final two and smashing the Hawks pumpkins.. :coffee:

Well of course Lee, I am after all a betting man. On top of the double or nothing bet (4.00) I will now wager another dollar that the Lightning will pull this out... So if the Lightning win you send me a buck, if they lose I send you five bucks, which may be cheaper then sending you four ones.   So what say ye, no contract or anything...  just a hand shake

Last night the hockey season finaly came to a close and the Chicago Black Hawks were the last ones standing. This morning with Duncan watching I took a tattered five dollar bill from his dog biscuit fund and enclosed it in an envelope and walked it down to the mail box. It just so happen that Mark the mailman was coming by and he took the envelope and in passing I told him it was to pay off a wager. Mark nodded and told me he will place the envelope in saddlebag and strap it on to the hind end of a donkey that is taking a slow train to the last stockyard in Chicago. From there it will find its way to the address I have smudged on the envelope. Mark drove off and I made my way back to the cabin with Duncan at my side, I told him it is ok, we will get our money back er I mean his money back when we win against Da Bears!  :coffee:

Chicago Blackhawks already favorite to win 2016 Stanley Cup

The Chicago Blackhawks began the 2014-2015 season as the Stanley Cup favorites and finished as the champions. They've already been anointed the favorites for next season, too.

2016 Stanley Cup Odds:

The Blackhawks are the odds-on favorites to win next season's Stanley Cup, according to the Westgate SuperBook. :happy1:

Blackhawks 6-1 Blue Jackets 30-1
Rangers 8-1 Senators 40-1
Ducks 8-1 Flames 40-1
Lightning 10-1 Canucks 50-1
Kings 10-1 Oilers 60-1
Wild 12-1 Sharks 60-1
Predators 12-1 Stars 80-1
Penguins 12-1 Panthers 80-1
Blues 12-1 Avalanche 80-1
Capitals 16-1 Flyers 100-1
Canadiens 16-1 Devils 100-1
Bruins 16-1 Maple Leafs 100-1
Jets 20-1 Hurricanes 100-1
Islanders 20-1 Sabres 200-1
Red Wings 30-1 Coyotes 200-1
-- Westgate SuperBook

The Westgate SuperBook opened the Blackhawks as 6-1 favorites to win the 2016 Stanley Cup this week. Chicago defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games to hoist this year's Cup.

The New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks, both at 8-1, are the second choices in 2016, followed by the runner-up Lightning and Los Angeles Kings at 10-1. The Minnesota Wild, :moon: Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues are all at 12-1.

The Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes are the biggest long shots at 200-1.

Last October, the Blackhawks were listed at 11-2 to win the Stanley Cup at the SuperBook. They remained among the favorites for the majority of the season, before besting the Lightning in the finals with Monday night's 2-0 victory.

 :reporter;......... :moon:

Chicago has won three Stanley Cup championships since 2010.

No need to make excuses for your boys when they start to loose. If they would follow the stiff regiment of workouts such as Da Hawks do they would stay in shape. And on a kind of positive thought Kane has now scored in 20 straight games, wonder what the Hawks would be like if he was to go down with an injury  :coffee:

How would you drive if your steering wheel fell off :bonk:

Wild win two in a row, Hawks lose three in a row and they are both tied with 30 points. Except MN has two games in hand and are now two spots above the Black Hawks in the standings.  :coffee:

Hawks are up by one point over the Wild who have a game in hand, neck and neck heading into the middle of the season.... but then the Wild does have two wins over the Hawks... :happy1:

Update has Hawks up by 2 points and one place in the standings but due to a quirk in scheduling the Wild have three games in hand. Pretty much neck and neck here. Kane continues to score for the Hawks.  :coffee:

Not to let Lee and his Hawks off the hook it should be noted that the Wild completed a 5 game winning sweep of the Hawks this season and that is a NHL because no previous years champion has ever been swept by a team the following season in the history of the NHL.. Just thought I would pass that on, that and the fact the way the Hawks are playing and the Wild are winning there may be a chance the Hawks will get passed in total points and may not even see the Wild in the playoffs, lucky for the Hawks..  :coffee:

Many of the Hawks players were brought up in Chicago :blues brothers: and once belonged to The Crips, Bloods, or Chicago Outlaws. Don't blame them if they get carried away training-087 once and a while.

 ...
It's just a matter of adjusting to life in the NHL
