Well here's my take on it.  The WB is very good for the containment and MANY people have great success with it.

I tried it on my first bow and it was a total disaster.  My arrows were flying down the lane like a curly que pattern - I could see it spiral and had no idea where it would hit.  Then within about a dozen shots, the wiskers were getting all criss crossed and my fletching were getting trashed.  I took it back and got something different.  So for me, it would be difficult to immagine trying it again.

Now I have a DMI Expert I.  Its basically a drop away.  I have had ZERO problems with it and best of all - it is PERFECTLY quiet.  There isn't any containment so its not for stalking...but it worked very well for me in the 07 season.

From what I was told, the reason why my arrows kept falling off of my rest was becasuse of string swist. Once I put on a zebra twist string the problem went away. Not saying it is the correct answer, there could be other variables. I use neither a wisker buiscuit or a fall away rest, I have an overdraw that works well for me. I went to a archery shop, and what I was told is that the wisker buicuit tends to slow the fps of your arrow.

Again, this is what was told to ME, not sure if it's accurate or not.

I would not get a bisket, unless you want to be refletching every week. plus they slow your bow down around 5 FPS dont know if that is true but that is what i have seen.. they make clips for the drop aways give me a min ill post a pic of mine.... peace ss

i was told the WB does mess up your arrow speed and mess's with your arrows fletchings. but i have also heard numerous good things about them also. i think i might go with a new fall away rest, because i dont want my bow to look bulky with to much stuff on it.

Here's that DMI:

It goes for about $85.

Ive heard the WB will slow it down a little but so does a peep...My son shoots with one and it hasn't damaged his vanes at all.  Now he has VANES.  I had fletchings and it did wreck my fletchings.

Try it out

see the little black rubber thing you can tip your bow upside down and your arrow will not fall out. when you draw your arrow comes out. very slick deal

and a pic of my bow if you wanna buy it...

i use a drop rest and never had a prob , but as far as the clinking noise they have some stuff called mole skin? that has an adhesive backing that you can put on your bow ... i use it! and youll never hear a peep it doesent come off in bad weather conditions either ! try it

I work in the archery industry-I personally use drop away rest, however WB are hard to beat for hunting-if you use a stiff vane like a blazer vane you won't experience vane damage or wrinkling. I however will stick with drop aways-some of my favorites are the Wammy by Spot Hogg, the Dropzone by Trophy Ridge, and The DMI Expert II.

I have been using the Whisker for a couple years and shoot very very good groups with it.  I  use the plastic/rubber vane arrows so have had no fletching issues.  awesome to be able to concentrate on the deer and not worry about my arrow falling off or getting bumped when I have to switch to the other side of the tree.  My whisders look real good yet after 2 seasons of use.  As far as arrow speed, all the deer get hit before they jump, so it must be fast enough.

I used to shoot with a drop away untill i got a WB for christmas a couple of years ago and i love it.  I will never go back to a drop away and i shoot plastic and feather veins and i have never had a prob with refletching.  i have been shooting the same carbons and fletching now for about 3 years.  i know a few people who have WB and they like them also. but just like everything else in life its all personal preference.  if we all liked the same things there wouldnt be so many different things to choose from.

I personally use a fall away style, but as somebody said, the whisker holds the arrow better. So for my wife and son I set them up with the (forgot the name) if you set your fletching right they will not make contact with the rest, but still help hold the arrow (just in case)

Hostage has a new rest out, the Hostage Pro.  Here's a pic.  You can adjust for arrow size with this rest and its made out of 6061 t6 aluminum.  Pretty cool.

That is a nice looking rest. I'm thinking when I outfit a new bow here in a couple months I will look into one of those.
