Jackpine Bob, a long time Ely legend,
has cancer and is not long for this world.? Here was a column Doug Grow did in this Sunday's Star Trib for anyone interested.

My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

I never had a chance to read his column, but he sounds like a character.
Quote
"War is dumb," he proclaimed at the time. "It scares the fish."
......Classic.
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold pint-- and another one!

An Ely legend who will not soon be forgotten. Sad to hear of his disease, but his words will live on in many folks's memories.
