yeah you get tired of saying.." whoa bear... while walking through the woods.. we have alot here, and need to make some noise so they will go the other way... i dont think since i been here, that i didnt see a bear while in the woods..They are resorts bears too, and not scared of you or the dogs...We have alot of that here in Ely

Yeah NG its alot funnier years later, a buddie that witnessed the "incident" said it would have made for a great segment of WHEN ANIMALS ATTACK....   Hey Spin... Ditto.  None of my setters would have made good trial dogs, but never had any interest in doin that stuff.  In fact Im pretty loose with some things, like letting em move on running birds, which is good when pheasent hunting... My biggest concern has always been having the dog hunting close, and hunting with me, not by himself... Especially while grouse hunting.  I put a few of my dogs in events at the game fair for giggles, and giggle I did...  I just have never needed trophies or ribbons to justify any of my dogs abilities or that of my training... All I need is a big smile on my face when I see Drummer workin his tail off or when the planets converge, and the plan works out, and ya get something in the gamebag, but then thats  depending too much on my shooting skills!
