I decided Saturday would be a good day to clean up some old deer skulls I had hanging in the rafters of my turkey shed.  I found a nesting robbin had already been making use of one of them so decided to put the project off for awhile.  I guess she had a better use for them anyway!

Neat. I had one do this on a set that hangs on my barn a few years ago. I now have one that has built her nest on top of the light under my overhang on the shop. The only trouble is it is right above my entrance door. I said as long as she didn't block the sensor for the light I would leave her be. But, now that she is leaving  lovely deposits on the concrete outside my door on the concrete where every one tracks it in to my shop I may have to reconsider! :doah:

The robbin was successful, with 2 little ones about ready to take off now.

I wait till they go out for food before I sneak in!  I took another peek today at the 2nd nest and the babies doubled in size in the last two days.  Only 3 babies left, so the others must not have made it out of the shell.  The antler nest babies have already flown the coupe.

They already thinned the herd to two.  I suppose if it were 3 they wouldn't fit in the nest for long with the rapid growth they put on...Already doubled in size again.

Robbins at 11 days.  The wind storm nearly blew the roof off their shelter last night.  Had to go fix it or they would get soaked next rain storm.

The old robbin nest has fallen on hard times with the heavy rains blowing in.  The nest was saturated and tipping over when I went to check tonight. Only one robbin baby left at 14 days. I propped the nest up with a post so he could atleast sit flat in it.
