LAKE REPORT

Still plenty of ice on the lake for all size vehicles.
Mornings and evenings find good to excellent fishing in most south shore areas:  Pine Island, Light House Gap, Morris Point Gap, Four Mile Bay, and Rainy River in 18 feet.  Mid day has been fair in 28 feet, but has been most productive at the reefs (snowmobile or 4 wheeler) for walleye or Four Mile Bay for northern using tip-ups.

RIVER REPORT

50 - 120 fish per boat per day!!!  This is it.  The time is now.  Boats are in at Birchdale and Frontier and fishing is excellent for trophy walleye and sturgeon.  Shiners, frozen shiners, and rainbows are the ticket.  Come midweek and avoid any wait at the ramp.  Do not miss this trip.  One group put in at 1am and fished until 5am and they caught over 30 walleye and 2 huge sturgeon.
