Snow I would love to come up but I am healing up my back right now. I will hear you shooting though as I am not that far away. May be a cold one after?

Sunday is suppose to be stellar, clear and 80 degree's and little wind,it would make for a good league day for good scores... :happy1:

Some let me guess, the members don't pick up their own shell casings do they... :rotflmao: Not worth their time? :rotflmao:  Thanks for the info.

I did check out the website.  Looks like a neat place to go to.  And a 3 year waiting list?  Must be a  real great place to shoot.

Hey Snow... Did ya go to Metro?  I talked to Rick and he said with that skeet tourney, he could get us on #6 for sporting clays, but I needed field #10 for my last two league rounds (so I didnt go...)... :banghead: Dang Skeet shooters! :rotflmao:  Hey, skeet's OK.... OK for warming up for Sporting Clays! ;) :whistling:  But seriously, I do like to shoot it to get my crossers down, and to warm up for sporting clays.... especially those three stations in the middle.  Cody... Nah, I'm gearing up for bird hunting pretty much... In fact I'm probably not gonna shoot the State Sporting Clays Championship this year for the first time since I started clays shooting... Just gonna finish up the league stuff and work on getting Drummer (and myself ;D) ready for the "real thing" with grouse #'s at their peak, or close to it....  I got my last two rounds in at Wild Marsh on Saturday.. shot a 41 and a 38, so I'd like to re-shoot the 38... want to end up with a 80% avg. so let me know when you guys are going to go so I can shoot with ya.... we need to buy our banquet/shoot tickets also... its on the 13th of September...(Im winning a gun this year! ;D)

pout~ Yup,I was there, they had a pretty good crowd, they told me it was the state event, not much of a crowd compared to our state trap tourney, but yeah, what a great day to shoot, well except for the helicopter flying back and forth spraying bugs for about an hour right out in front of the fields  ;D You should of herd the whining, everyone was peeking and dropping targets,I've herd and made my own excuses on misses but the heli deal was the 1st and quite funny for us not shooting skeet.

Come on Snow... the chopper was probably causing a huge down draft and pushing the clays down, not giving them skeet shooters enough time to hit em!  Kind of the opposite of the metrodome staff kicking up the HVAC to push the pop flys out when the Twins are up to bat! :whistling:  I love it when people whine about stuff like that... the whiners always seem to forget that as long as everyone has to deal with the same issues (ie: wind, rain, sun in the eyes...helicopters.... etc....) its really a moot point eh?     Cody, are you gonna make it to the banquet this year, as you work Sundays?  I won your case of shells last year,  If you dont go, Im gonna claim your gun by sayin Im Cody... or Maybe I'll bring a ringer and we'll call him Cody.... ;)  I know if you buy a banquet ticket/shoot ticket by the end of this month, your name gets put in a raffle for some really cool stuff!

Just surprised to read that it has only 140 members at a time.  You would think they could do more if they opened it to more members or maybe hosted a member/employee invitee shot to get more interest in the club.  Regardless, I think it still a great idea and looks good.  I too cannot get away to the Dakotas to hunt, yet at the same time, I can drive say 1.5 hours to a preserve, shoot 5 birds, and spend a heck of a lot less than running west.  Make sense to me.

red most the members are only driving half hour.  it only allows that many because theres only so many feilds and they want to have the feilds last as long as possible, there open till the end of march. Its all up to the board on how many members they allow. they want to make it as much fun as possible and simulate like your not even on a game farm. birds are spooky and jumpy just like seasoned roosters. not get as many people in as they possibly can. ive been to a few farms like that and it doesnt look like it works to well. as for the member/employee thing members do sponsor hunts for friends and etc, only catch is that the member has to be there when you sign in, he dont have to go out with the hunters though.

greg i bought a ticket last year, and couldnt make it because i got put on a afternoon hunt and by the time i was out of there it was 5pm. ill buy a ticket again this year and attempt to make it again. is it sept 13th?

Yep... Sunday the 13th... Hope ya can make it this year,  Its tough I know cause everybody and their mother gets out now to the game farms to psych up for the real bird hunting to come and to train their dogs... its gotta be the busiest time of year there, eh?

no not really i just drew the short straw that day, plus the guy i took out hunting requested me so i had no choice in the matter. but ill request that day off from the church and can only pray that i dont get put on a hunt that day. early september isnt that busy, but towards the end it gets busy.
