Minnewaska - Fish On Bait and Sport

Walleye bite is still really strong.  Even though it is very windy today...many boats on the water.  Must be catching something to put up with the waves.

Went out last night and caught my limit of 6 within an hour off the beach.  Most fish were in 2.5 ft of water...really shallow.  All had lake shiners in their gut.  Through several smaller fish back and had numerous misses.  Shiners and minnows were seen swimming through all over.  Several fish surfacing after the bait fish.  Fella came down from the "T Dock" by Lakeside and also said wallleyes were surfacing all over.

Going out again after I have a supper of wallye tonight.  Can't wait.  Batcheloring it tonight...wife and kids are out of town.  Her last words were..."don't go fishing".  That's like telling a thirsty horse not to drink.

Mixed reports on the crappies. Some are catching them left and right and others are not catching many at all. Starbuck marina had good reports. With this warmer week and weekend, I would expect it to pick up dramatically.

I have a hand drawn map at the store if you want to stop in. Call 320-634-3630 for any updates.
