I have been reading the posts about tresspassers here and in other forums and must say it is getting scary.it seems most people hold with the idea of automatic prosecution and some of you seem to hold with the lynch mob aspect,First off I do NOT condone tresspassing.that understood I think we have to look at the big picture, with less and less land available to hunt for most, people are going to infringe on private property partly because some dont care and partly because some were raised where boundries were not quite so important such as the larger wooded areas of northern mn,I am one of the latter I also am a landowner and have had ppl cross onto my land and a few just sneak on,however after speaking with them reasonably I have never had one come back and try again.I believe most ppl are reasonable if you explain it to them or at least are not willing to risk a ticket if I catch them a second time.I myself have seen the attitudes of the farmers change to where they used to let ppl hunt and now because of personal experience or popular opinion now the dont step on my land for any reason attitude,I believe a person has the right to regulate who is allowed and who isnt of course.but I try to see the good in most people and dont believe I will try to hang anyone today, make no mistake I would call the DNR for a repeat offender but also realise that if the trend continues and people who dont have areas to hunt will look with disgust on the farmer whpo has Crp or other goverment paid program to wonder how come farmers are allowed to lease crp to hunters who can afford it and the rest get to pay the farmer via taxes but refuses to let the people who pay the taxes set foot on it.The somewhat longwinded point I am trying to make is that these are people too and like people they are going to make mistakes lets try to remember that we have too

Well said Hunter42.  I was one who posted about a recient tresspass experience I had on my land.  I ended up not pressing charges because I eventually discovered I knew the guy.  That still doesn't make what they did right but because I had only good encounters with him in the past, I decided to give him a break.  Some may think I was too easy on them but that's just me.  I think he was embarrassed enough just being caught.
