Just a reminder, now that we've finally gotten a little warmer weather, the woodticks are out there in armies lookin for a host to feed off of! Get your dog some frontline or the like soon if ya havent allready, just pulled a couple off Drummer and I havent even been running him off a leash recently!

I greased Daisy up this weekend.  I picked six off myself after about three miles of hiking down by the Rum.    Monsters!

Those things got teeth!  Hey swamprat... I just used my last vial of frontline(on Drummer, not me! ;))... do ya know if theres any place cheaper than fosters & smith?  I need to buy another box, lion country supply is usually close in price to them also....

Thouderpout, not trying to change your mind use what ever you prefer.  But I know I used Frontline and Frontline Plus for years.  The last two years I switched to Biospot and I'm very happy.  I live on a farm and my dog runs all over and I haven't picked a tick off him in 2 years.  It's a ton easier on the wallet also.

Thanx General... Yeah, Ive used Biospot, it is cheaper, and it works pretty well.  The only thing I dont like about it is if your dog goes into water, or he gets full of mud and ya give em a bath the biospot gets weak/washes off. Then the price factor evens up... Frontline dosent wear off so easy, I found that if I can get a discounted price on Frontline,(not buying it from places that mark up the $$$, ie most vets, pet supply box stores) its actually a bit cheaper than applying the biospot as often as I did.  When I used the Biospot, I started finding ticks a week or so after giving the dog a bath, or after the dog would find some water to cool off in when running them... Although I do wonder how safe the Frontline is if it is that permanent, ya know?  Makes ya wonder if they are testing the stuff on lab rats....  ;):reporter;

Holy Freeholy,

I took the dog for a walk yesterday and I picked twenty four woodticks off of me when I got back to the truck!  Amazingly the dog only had two.  I guess the Biospot works pretty well.  Either that or they just didn't get a grip on the greasy, wet Labrador fur.  Labs really do have great coats.  almost weed seed and pest proof.  Thirty seconds with a curry comb and they are good as new.
