Sunday 8/17 Report

Fished Sunday with Steve Menke and son Matt from 5:15 am till 12:15 pm. While waiting for my crew I trolled Linn Pier in the dark for 10 min and and hooked one largemouth that flipped off at the boat.

Then I saw car headlights pull up with no trailer in tow so I made my way back to the dock and it was my guys. It's been a while since I fished with Steve and he wanted to get Matt out once before he left for collage.

The first spot we pulled up to Steve had a smallie on before anyone else wet a line. I told him this wasn't good and he jinxed us :doah:. Well of course Steve thought I was crazy :taz: until 25 min went by without another bite and he started getting paranoid about this Jinx stuff. :help:

Fortunately it was only one of those 25 min jinxes ;) and more smallies began to move into the area. We mostly worked Carolina Rigs and the fish seemed to move in and out of the area for several hours. We were having enough success to hang out on the same spot for 3 hrs.

I figured I'd better give the guys the option of staying there or leaving the fish to go find fish. Steve decided to leave the fish to go find fish. This made sense for Steve because He has his own boat and wanted to learn more spots.

Today's bite was very light and most of the fish came out of 28 to 32 fow. The sizes of today's smallies varied with very few under size and yet no real giants. Overall we had a decent outing with father and son very happy.

See ya on the water,

Lee

**Life is like a tackle box. Just when you think you have everything you could possibly need in your arsenal of lures, baits, and other assorted odds and ends, you find yourself in a situation where you have to run out and get something else. So it is with life. Just when you think you've seen it all, done it all, and heard it all, something new happens. And when it does, you store it away in the appropriate compartment, where it may or may not be used again.
