I'm brand new to this forum,,,,so I figured I would make a post...
Who's ready for Ripley????
Anyone who has advice for the hunt??,,,I got drawn for the second season and it is my first year....Any suggestions???

Welcome and congrats on your lucky draw.  I've never hunted Camp Ripley before buy do know people that have.  There are some monster bucks out there for sure.  Here's some advise from what I know.
1. Get in line early as possible at the entrence gate.
2. Be very mobile, I've heard stories of hunters being 10-30yards away from each other.
3. Remember the deer will be on the move as other hunters are constantly moving around changing stand areas.
4. Find a buddy on the hunt on the inside, if you get a bruiser, it's all hand and foot dragging, No trucks, atv's etc... deer, stand, bow, backpack/gear is a lot to haul at one time.
5.  Don't shoot the Timber Wolves in there, there's a very healthy pack or several packs in there.

Get a map that will help out alot........ got to www.mnarchery.org  they have them for sale on that site...........  we will also have them for sale at the 3D shoot this weekend at kingston go to the bow hunting forum on this site for more info on that.......
