I recently purchased an 05 Ford Explorer XLT from Kim Turnquist, the GM at Anderson Ford in Baldwin. ? I came to call him through a previous post looking to sell my Blazer that Spinach responded to and hooked me up with his brother.

I gave Kim the price parameters of what I was looking for in an SUV (origanally was looking to purchase a Trailblazer) and what I reasonably wanted for a trade.? He called me back on Thursday indicating he had something on the lot that met what I was looking for.

I was familiar with the truck as I was doing my research on both the Fords and Chevys,? so I was pretty comfortable buying it sight unseen.? I new it was red and that was what my wife wanted anyway.? Kim had also agreed to the trade sight unseen (other than a picture and description.)

They drew up the paperwork, Pat (Spinach) picked up the truck on Friday morning in Baldwin and had to it me by noon on Friday. Just in time to take it to our cabin for a 4 day weekend.? He then turned around and drove my Blazer back out to Baldwin.

I had spent hours with sales reps and dealers who, in the end, really didn't want to work with me.? Kim did everything he said he would and made buying this vehicle a breeze.? Plus I love the truck.

I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for a new or used vehicle to give Kim a call.?

My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Now that's service!!!!

The Ford dealership my brother works for  in Grand Rapids will hold a truck on  my word that I will be there and might even dicker prices for thier truck.
But I know they wouldn't commit to a trade price over the phone even if I had pictures.

The driving it down part would go through my bro, so that is about equal to Pat doing it, but I would have had to have the trade up there first.

So I would have to say that's got to be an awasome dealership.

Benny - I'm not sure if it was because my trade had been under warranty for the entire life of the vehicle (94,000 M) or if he just knew that it was worth X number of dollars and could make the right profit for the dealership.? Most dealers will tell you that your trade is a piece of s*** and they can't move it because of this, that and the lat.? That didn't happen here.

Either way, I'm sure every situation is different.? If I'm a dealer and know that the person I'm dealing with has perfect credit and Carfax shows everything that was done to the vehicle being traded in, I would do the same thing if sitting in his shoes.? I'm pretty sure everyone won on this deal.

Two things I hate are buying vehicles and buying or selling a home.? They are the two biggest purchases we make and we don't want to screw it up.? This was one of the more pleasant experiences I've had.

Thanks MT - Ya, a few boxes of those Crispy Kremes made their way to Lake if the Woods, didn't they? ? And there wasn't a crumb to be found when Spinach drove the truck back.

Actually, I think I might have told him there were some littered in the back seat, and the minute I turned my back, they were gone.? Must have been a little hungry, seeing I didn't even think to offer him a famous grilled Harold Burger when he delivered the truck at noon. ;)
