I used to use federals bonded bullets in 243 cal.  It killed every deer that I have ever pulled the trigger on.  I was happy in that aspect but there were a few times that while skinning the deer I would find parts of the bullet still in the deer.  Even though the bullets were bonded they still would come apart.  The last 2 years I have switched over to the Barnes triple shock X bullet.  I now have complete pass thrus and have yet to find ANY part of the bullet inside the deer.  Also I have yet to have a deer go more than 15 yards after being hit,  And that was a 230 lb buck.  The other 3 dropped on the spot.  The bullets are 100% copper so there is no lead.  Since my kids eat the meat I do worry about lead.  The only drawback is that they are more expensive.

If you would like a free video (U.S only) from barnes I will attach the link.

I have also used the varment grenades. They are a lot of fun.  For coyotes they are devistating and will not reck the hide.

My father is using the 30-06.  He hasn't shot in the last two years.
