I think it’s safe to say his rack is messed up due to his injury (left leg).not bad genes that would be passed on. I think he has already paid his dues for this life. I would let him go.

 Very cool pic though please post more if he comes back it would be neat to see him grow

wow i wasnt paying attention, no front leg, then i would still shoot him just to put him out of his misery, no clue on how he got that big with just 3 legs, you must have some good food sources and literally no predators around.

if he dont take him im sure sooner or later a preadator will. or if the winter is suppose to be as bad as they think its going to be this year it will have a real hard time trying to get through deep snow

I don't know....He looked pretty healthy to me, nice big deer. I think i'd let him go...

I'd take him.  He most likely has some sort of genetic defect and his antlers probably aren't getting any larger.

Its the missing leg. When buck gets an injury like that it affects his antler growth.

Example, look at this picture. Notice the gash on the left side of his neck and then take a look at his antler:

I found one of his sheds this spring when I was planting one of my food plots.

I'm guessing the shed was equally as small?  My point is that this deer has reached it's maximum antler size whether it's from the leg, or genes or whatever,  and I would not hesitate to harvest him.

Just looking at the photo, I'm guessing the antler is about the same.

To me it looks like he was born that way.  There is no sign of trama or any big scar that you can see.  I have had a 3 legged deer by my place and they can run just as fast as one on 4 legs.  I don't think he has to worry about to many predators.  And the one by my house was shot or hit because the leg was there it just flopped around.

Really wierd none the less.  Thanks for posting the pic!!!
