This is my Friends Dad...pretty cool.

On Sunday, July 2, 2006, while fishing for bluegills and sunfish with his wife Sandy on the St. Croix River above Prescott, Wisconsin, Woodbury resident Dick Krumm caught this very strange looking fish. Krumm said that the fish put up a good fight and that when he got his first look at the greenish side he thought it was a smallmouth bass. The second time the fish showed itself he thought it might be a sheepshead and with his third look he told his wife to get the net! Krumm had been fishing the river for about 40 years and thought he had caught them all but, this was definitely a new one. He and his wife finally decided it had to be a cross between two of the rivers many varieties of fishes.

The fish, which measured 15 inches, was later that day identified by DNR agents patrolling the waters as being a Piranha. It has since been determined by DNR biologists, and further investigation on the internet, to be a Pacu, a vegetarian version of the flesh eating Piranha. Krumm said that he will definitely have the fish mounted since it is highly unlikely that he would ever catch another one!

Has this fish really been verified as a Pirhana? Or is it a Pacu? Seems like I've been hearing alot about these Pacu lately. Where do you suppose they are all coming from?
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
