A Contender in .221 Fireball on prairie dogs and for deer I sometimes use a Lone Eagle chambered in .358 Winchester.  I have used a Lone Eagle in 7mm-08, but wasn't happy with the bullet performance.

If I hunt with a handgun, it is usually with a revolver, .41 mag up to a 454.  I have a .475 Linebaugh, but haven't actually hunted with it yet.

S&W SS 6 1/2" 44 mag powerport, Iron sights, Hogue camo laminated grips, w/forcing cone work & trigger job and a nice custom leather/pigskin sholder holster.... missed a nice buck my first year with it...(shooting off-hand...) must have fired 6-800 rds thru it since... I'm ready now, just waiting for Mongo to apear! ;)  Have thought about putting a leupold on it, but I'm pretty darn good with it (now :whistling:) and I use it for "self protection" also... Ive tried all kinds of ammo thru it but the best by far without loading my own or custom loads are the Winchester 250g Partition Golds.... they're deadly accurate.

:rotflmao: I'd try, but after a shot or two there would be big craters in the ground that the targets would dissapear into... ;D  I actually was shooting at clay pigeons the other weekend... but they were still... leaning on a gravel pile... easier to hit that way... :whistling:
