Most likely a joke. But like it or not we have cats in MN. It just depends on how long everyone wants to deny it including the DNR.

some friends of mine have some land along the rice creek near braham and there is cat tracks everywhere. it does not suprise me. we found them out yote hunting

I had seen a cougar last Feb in SW MN.  So I know they are around.  But I doubt that guy shot that cat in the wild, if he did I'm pretty sure it was illegal.  If I remember correctly I think cats are protected.

There is a Mt. Lion season going on in the Black Hills of SD right now.  They allow up to 35 Mt Lions to be harvested or the season also ends if 15 females are killed.

that looks  like the one that was taken in western canada this past year, fourth  biggest cat ever, little over 200 pounds. guided cat hunt in canada.  seen it floating around the net lately.

   We saw cat tracks both times we were out in January. I saw one of the females taken early was estimated between 9-11 years of age. What is your take on less tags sold this year? I am guessing time of the season is after most of the other seasons have closed instead of during the regular times of all the other seasons.
