I personally haven't been scoutting my spots yet... but I have the benifit of having a retired dad up in the area.  I talked to him this morning while he was on his way to muskie fish on mille lacs(another story) and said he was out for a walk early this morning and cam across a 4 pointer in the clearing where I normally have the portable stand.

and about a month and a half ago, he said he saw about a 6 or 8 pointer in velvet out in the field.

can't wait!
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

I haven't been to the cabin since Memorial Day and at that time it was too darn hot to be anywhere but the shade.

But me and you must be the lucky ones, my dad is also retired and is heading up to the cabin as I type.? He said he was going to head out to my land and check out my food plots and see how they are doing, if there is anything at all.?

He has been seeing all sorts of deer around the new cabin where they planted grass seed.? Including one 6 pt still in velvet, who was following around some big does.?

Should have a report in the next week or so.?

We usually head out in Oct. a few times and check the stands and do a little grouse hunting.
