the new cuddeback captures are pretty dang good for only $200.  fast trigger speed, long battery life, the camera holds up to 100 pics without a card, and pretty quality pics.  just my opinion.  we have had great luck and pictures with all the cuddebacks.  we wont use anything else.

I got Leaf River's.......

I know they have come down in price since I bought mine...just don't know how far.

Mine take really great photo's and movie clips. They hold 400 pics without a card (like you would ever need that many) And I run re-chargeable batteries in um, they have lasted up to a month. (depending on how many pics are taken)

I use the moultrie IR 4.0.  Takes great pictures.  Holds over 3800 pics on a 2gig sd card.  Over 300 on the internal memory.  It has taken over 1000 pictures and the batteries were still over 75%.  Bought the last one last nov. for about 170

we have tried that moultrie 4.0.  the night pictures didnt turn out for crap for us. and the range was terrible. might have got a bad camera though.

Best bang for you buck is the new moultries. I have had many cams and so have many of my friends and we are all very impressed with the moultries for battery life, durability and ease of use. That said, it isn't the fastest trigger speed and picture qaulity is middle of the road. So set ups over minerals, bait or plots and facing up or down trails or funnels is best.

I agree with moultries but I did have some trouble with them picking up weeds blowing in the wind and shadows caused by the sun but that's better than have a deer walk by and the camera missing it. The no flash infrared ones are the best. The batteries last forever because the flash is what eats up your batteries. Very clear pictures just face them north and make sure there is no branches that will set it off.
I also use the wildview extreme 2 cameras. I have 3 of them and they take great picture and are somewhat fast but I put them on a salt lick or over a scrape so I don't have to worry about quick trigger speeds then. I love these cameras and they're very cheap. Cabellas had them on sale last spring 2 for $89.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

Anyone have cam photos to share?  Good way to showcase the image your camera records.

This is the link for the trail cam photo contest last year. I posted quite a few pics of nice bucks that we got on the cameras here.

My profile pic is from a wildview extreme 2 and the bucks are fighting and the picture was crystal clear. Cheap as far as digital cameras go. (under $100 a lot of times) but like I said has a slower trigger speed on it but it's fast enough for me for that money.
