Towards the end of last years duck season I started having an issue with my shotgun. When I would shoot the action would come about half way back, kind of half pumping without me trying. I called it the semi-semi-auto because it helped if I was reloading real fast. But, sometimes it would pump most of the way back, not leaving me enough distance to pull another shell out of the magazine while I discharged the hull. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
The shotgun is a pump action Winchester model 1300.

try giving your gun a good cleaning, usually thats what the problem is when actions start messing up. if you keep your guns clean then your gun probly needs to see a docor.

I got 2 of them. One is a mod 1200 and the other is a 1300 12 ga. I realy like them I have shoved shell in it with cat tails and wathced them fly out after I shoot so there. look on the bottom of the bolt under the trigger ass. the 2 stamped rods that go to pump are in the wrong spot. And U do know that when it is closed ready to fire. The bolt is locked in to the barrle. And after U shoot the bolt should slide back about 2" when U are holding the gun leval. Hope this helps. This was ther big selling pitch faster folow ups. It is a realy fast gun. I bought a rem 870 after shooting the 1200 for 10 years and jamed the dam thing all the time. Got to used to that 1200 so I sold it and got the 1300 you would not beleave what I do to this poor gun I spray paint it green in the begining of season and it changes with it till it is white. my 1200 is wood and I keep it in great shape and clean.

could be a cleaning issue...as for the 1200 i have one also but i hate it more than any other gun i own. cant get rid of it because of centimental(sp) value(grandpas gun). ive spent more money on that gun to try to make it a nice gun but nothing works. so it sits in the gun cabinet and looks pretty. sorry a little

yes it is a cheep gun and not worth the box of stell shot. That is why I treat my 1300 like dirt. But it loads and shoots no mater what it is like a ak47 but it has droped a lot of ducks
