Has anyone used EMT gel or spray on their dogs for wounds and injuries?  My Setter, Drummer, recently had a run in with a racoon or maybe a possum.  His nose, top of his snout got ripped up a bit and swelled up, then got infected pretty bad.  Took him to the vet for antibiotics and the old lampshade to keep Drummer from making a bad situation worse.  Well, he was still getting at it like they always do... anyways, I had this EMT gel and spray in my dogs first aid for a year or so, and had only used the gel a few times on a few little cuts and abrasions and the like while bird hunting... well, I used the spray which also has the bittering additive in it so the dog doesnt tend to lick the wound as much... I gotta say this stuff works very well!  :happy1:  His snout scabbed over, over night, and was able to get that "lampshade" off Drummer in like two days and was healed in less than a week!  All the fur came back and he looks as good as new now!  EMT has collagen in it, which is the active ingrediant.  I know this sounds like a commercial for the stuff, but it really does work unbelivably... If you bird hunt with dogs, this stuff should be with you wherever ya go!  I have an ammo box with dog first-aid stuff in it that I bring with on hunting trips that I keep in my car, and a small scaled down version that I keep in my vest.  Its great stuff... Ive seen it at Cabelas and Gander Mtn, Im sure other pet stores carry it also...

About 4 or 5 years ago my dog cut her pad on ice one late season. I went to the doc and he did what he did and said she would be better in about 3-4 weeks or something. I was putting some ointment on her that he gave me and it was doing nothing. Time went by and seriously it was not getting better. That is when I found EMT Gell. She was hunting in a week! Seriously that stuff is amazing!! Used it since with the same results, never seen anything like it!

Thanks for the reminder. I have the stuff but haven't had to use it yet. My golden has a hotspot on his front paw that could really use some help. I was going to resort to the cone, but may give EMT a shot first.
