We had 2 dnr officers at our resort this weekend who told us some new rules before you leave the landing of any access of mille lacs.....All water must be removed from boat...livewells,bait containers(that have been in water)(yellow and white minnow buckets)..you must clean boat ..livewells...bait container...anchor ropes...anchors...motor..trailer.including tubes of trailer....or you are not allowed to transport to another lake and relaunch....they told us they are enforcing this at every landing and some of the small lakes are starting to show zebra mussals now in the area.....my questions were...how do you wash a boat off on mille lacs when none have clean water to wash them off with....can you take a boat to my landing then wash it totally off(yes)...can bait buckets after being washed go back into my lake(yes..if you use 160 degree water and bleech)can fishing line get zebra mussels on it(yes)...dnr said this is totally out of control and they are trying to inform everyone what to do to control it ..now...we are trying to keep it out of our lake so we have a presure washer that we have everyone use to wash everything off no matter what lake they came from...and our customers have been great  :happy1: and wash them off and never complain....we did have 1 guy who wont wash his boat so when I told him he couldnt put in he told me...he would just go to another lake that had a public landing (why ?)
fisherman are doing well....bass..northerns,crappie and sunnies...

and on another note why isnt the dnr down there at 10 pm to write tix to the guys with missing lights and that are drunk they put everyone at risk, also beware for the second time this year I have seen someone back into someone elses stuff and pull away without saying anything. I  did report your license plates to the authorities. I hope you get a hit and run scumbags.

First off, I think they mean you must clean them off by means of wiping or pulling the weeds or mousles off by hand.

I know they would like everyone to power wash them but they know very few people have one on thier boats or tow riggs.

If the CO tickets me for not "washing" my trailer, boat and other items off with out providing me a way to do so at the landing I will be seeing them in court.

I am all for keeping the crap out of our fine lakes but they have to allow us time to take the rig to a wash station or do it at home.

We had two CO's at Agate Bay today while I pulled my boat out, not at any time did they even talk to me about cleaning my boat or trailer off.

I did a walk around and looked for weeds and any thing that looks like a mousle.

If you have the stuff provided for people to do the power wash then I believe most would.
But then again at 10 PM right now at any given Mille Lacs landing you will not have time to wash even your feet off let alone wash out a trailer, boat and it's interior wells.
The other boaters would string you up alive!!

we do supply a power hose....and everyone here washes there boat when they put in ...I just told you what they said...they put up all new metal signs on my landing and gave me 4 x 6 cards to hand out to my customers about the new rules....we do what we have to to protect our lake ,,,because it doesnt have a public access and want to slow down the zebra mussels here because we know we will get them .....we have to trust sportsman that they will tell us and wash there equipment if they have been on lakes that are infested....and so far no complaining customers yet.....once they understand why we wash the equipment
