I'm planning to install an underground sprinkler system.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Any tips, advice, where to buy materials, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would hire it out... but that's just me. once you start messing with zones and coverage and all the tubing and bringing it out from the house.. it would be a pain

I could give you some tips but I have never seen a good diy system.  I have been in the business for 18 years off and on.  PM me if you have any questions.

just to add a bit.. once they're in, it's easy to work on.. I've changed out heads and repaired lines that the gophers/golfers chewed up.

I would agree with the guys saying to have it hired out. you will never come out by doing it yourself on this project. RainBird is by far the most user friendley product, Toro sucks and Hunter has a few issues along with a poor warranty. I have 10 years experience with this subject. Pm me if you need more advise.

I agree with all that's been said. Be sure you have good overlap between heads because it is not unusual for water pressure to decrease as an area get's built up.
