I got a 16 gig nano for my 25th anniversery at work, it didn't come with any software or instructions on how to down load music.

I have a newer laptop with windows vista, and an older desktop with xp.
I need to figure out how to load cd's and online music to this Ipod, anyone here know how to get Windows media player to load to it or where I can down load software to do so??

iTunes is what you want.  It's a program you download to your computer.

iTunes.com

Once done you take your music that's on your computer and load it to iTunes.  Then any cd's you have can be load to iTunes as well.  Think of iTunes as your music File Cabinet.  Once all your music is in your cabinet, you'll want to combine a bunch of files to make a playlist.   This way you can seperate Genre's of your music (rock music from your country and heavy metal from your rap) when you listen to it.

iTunes has a really nice feature called "Genius".  Once your music is loaded onto iTunes, you click on a particular song you like, then click on Genius.  It will then make a playlist for you with that song as an example and it really makes things easy for you.

Example: I have very eclectic music tastes.  I like everything from classical to Industrial Metal, country to some rap.  So when I click on say Van Halen's- Panama, it will make a playlist of songs from that era that I have loaded on my iTunes.  You can always add or subtract from the playlist.

It takes a little time to do all this, but once you get it loaded-you'll be glad you did!  I've got the 80 GB Video iPod.  I like it, but it's a brick compared to the Nano!

If you have any more questions, drop me a line or post it here.  I'll do my best to help.   :happy1:

I don't think so.  I wished there was!  Sounds like someting to download before you go to bed or work.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

My Laptop has wifi so we are headed to McDonalds to see if they have it or off to Carrabu.

If I can get hooked to wifi I think it would load with in a half hour or less?

I think it took something like 5 or 10 minutes to load it-I'm running with DSL.  Good Luck!
