Well I spent the weekend fishing a few different lakes fishing for crappies, and hoping to get a eye or two. Saturday we started at about 2pm the sun was out and it was hot, but a then some clouds formed and it helped a lot. Fished shallow from 4-7 fow by an area with some current. Started by pitching jigs and minnows right off the bat got a really nice crappie. Then we switched over to slip bobbers with the jig 2ft off the bottom which proved to be much more productive. Took home a limit of crappies from 10-12" with most 11-12" we caught no fish under 10" it was an awesome day. I also got one bonus 18" eye got it on my Ultra light and that was a fun battle.
Sat night I went down to the river and some buddies showed me the ropes of catfishing. I got my first flathead also, but she was no bruiser but it was fun and can't wait to go again.

Sunday went to different lake, it didn't start off to well I forgot the depth finder and my H20, but I had my vexilar so that would have to do. I took my mother out (It is the 4th time in the last 2 weeks she is addicted) went on the search for more crappies. We used slip bobbers because its pretty simple for her to use. Used jig with crappie minnows. It started off slow but they moved in and we got some nice ones again! They were not the 11-12" ones from the day before but all were 9-10" all were released. Oh on friday my mom hooked into her first sheephead ha!
