I launched out of Prescott yesterday morning. I had the pleasure of guding Rick and his twelve-year-old son Eric for the day. We hit a couple of spots by the confluence with limited sucess. A catfish and a short walleye was all that was managed. We headed up the Croix to a couple of tried and true spots. Got on a load of Smallies. They each boated 6 or 8 nice smallies. We moved up river a little more to look for the eyes. We were getting a lot of bites in most places we fished, but the hooksets weren't working out for the best. Found more smallies, but still no eyes that would take the bait. We decided to go for a boat ride down Pool 3 and meet up with River Dan. Got down there and hit some backwater. More cats and smallies. Finished the day up by Prescott again with a few more cats in the boat.

All in all it was a good trip. Met some real nice folks to share time on the water with. Would be nice to have the eyes cooperate a little more, but smallies make for a fun day as well. Eric was giving his Dad a hard time because he boated the only eye.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.
