Now that I have a chance to think back and consider the month of June I am amazed at the numbers of Walleye and trophy Walleye that were caught and released this month.  It has been incredible!  The Walleye population on Lake of the Woods is healthy.  Guides that have been on the lake for 30+ years agree that it is better now then it ever has been.  As with fishing anywhere we all have our moments, but this year the slack times and being hindered by the weather have been minimal.

We have been doing a combination of anchor and jigging or drifting with spinners depending on the wind.  Both have been working great.  I have seen a few boats go by with their down rigging equipment on them but do not know if they have been used.  We have been fishing mixed depths from 12 feet to 32 feet of water.

Come on up and beat the heat, the forecast shows highs in the 70’s for the week!
