Anyone heading up for this? I'm going and coming back on Saturday with a couple of buddies. My first year doing it. Any pointers from those who have done it before?

This was my first year up there and it was a blast!! Saw a few folks that I knew up there and made some new friends. Tons and tons of people there. Fishing could have been better for us, but a 5.5 lb eye (I believe he won it all) was pulled four holes over from us three minutes into the contest. We saw a few fish being caught with fifty feet of us so we were in a good area, just didn't get the fish by our hole. Still a blast and I'll be back again.

I've always wanted to try my luck but have never made it. I was up two years ago for work but didn't fish just watched the crowds and the zoo. looked fun.

Here is the link to the winners list on their website.  9,000 people, 900 fish registered-sounds like tough fishing.  But still a ton of fun, and a very worthy cause.  One year I plan to make it there.  Perhaps an MNO Ice Fishing Extravaganza Team?  :happy1: (Should anyone else be interested)

My brother and I tried our luck and caught nothing. people around us caught a few small perch and walleyes. It was a very cool expierience but cold. It was my first time doing this. I may do it again next year depending on the weather.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

MNO Team would be pretty cool. Just get a flag to put out so they all know what's what.  :woot:
