Little McDonald Lake walleye regulation to be discussed Sept. 9

Little McDonald Lake’s experimental walleye regulation will be the focus of a public meeting from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Perham Area Community Center in Perham.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) fisheries staff is soliciting comments on whether to modify, retain or drop the experimental regulation that requires all walleye 17-26 inches to be immediately released. The regulation allows anglers to keep one walleye longer than 26 inches.

People unable to attend the meeting may submit written comments by Wednesday, Sept. 23, to Arlin Schalekamp, DNR Area Fisheries, 1509 First Ave. North, Fergus Falls, MN 56537. Comments also will be accepted via e-mail at arlin.schalekamp@state.mn.us.
