Just out of curiosity, do any of you guys use decoys when hunting, and if so, do you like a buck decoy or just a doe.  I have been wanting to purchase one and give it a try but I'de like to hear from others who have tried them before I go out and spend the money.

I always use a doe decoy to bring in does and bucks. I am an equal opportunity hunter that likes meat, but also likes harvesting a mature buck.

The way I look at it, if you can bring 'em both in with one decoy, then use it.

Most of my friends that use buck decoys are hunting in large private parcels that hold a good amount of mature bucks that would take offense to a buck decoy, and come in to kick its butt.

This is not the case for me, and I feel using a buck decoy scares away the does, and doesn't bring the bucks in because there aren't enough "butt kicking mature bucks" around to do so.
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

Yep, I use one during bow hunting from time to time.

But, I just bring out my 3D archery target and use that. Sure, it's full of holes....but, they don't know any different.  ;D

I also use them on occasion.  If I'm hunting a field edge, I may put one out.  Last year I had a nice 8pt come to check out the "doe".  He circled down wind of the decoy and ended up between me and the decoy.  I let it go but it was fun.

let us know.  also, if going with a doe... get a white washcloth or old white t-shirt and soak it in doe pee and tack it on the ass by the tail.  that would also help get a buck's attention.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
